Whoever made this assessment was either being biased or not looking at the complete picture. You are stuck on a singular planet. There are only a few animals on said planet so unrealistic there, you are limited on what you can build, you are alone with 0 npcs of any kind, so realistically the game isn't very good unless you like being completely alone on an entire planet. From an rpg point of view your goal is to suck the planet dry as much as possible for a horrible cooperation, cause as much pollution and destroy as much of the planet as you possibly can, it doesn't matter how much of the planet you are ruining with smog and pollution so long as your corporation gets their resources. The plants and animals are just SOL. You are basically the humans from James Cameron's Avatar. So no, it is absolutely not #1 for any reason.

It would be really cool if someone did a mod like the tale of two wastelands where if you make your way to these special areas it would load up morrowwind or skyrim and you could jump back and forth between games.

Seems kind of boring to have it be like this. That basically means that once an area is cleared there is really no point to visit the area again. Makes for a pretty boring open empty world.

When I learned that no man's sky was merely a simulation and your character is a simulation, that nothing you do really matters because the system will just be reset over and over again and all the people you grow to care for along the way are also simulations and that existence is completely meaningless and there is no point to any of it because it will all be wiped out anyway for all of time, it really bummed me out. Then I realized what if our reality is exactly like that? That our existence is created and we live out our lives going from choice to choice until our eventual demise only to have the universe swallow everything up and explode back out again creating existence over and over for all of eternity. Even if our reality gets recycled, while we are here in this moment, it matters. Not only to us but to those around us we grow to care for along the way. And its ok for it to be enough.

They would have to seriously overhaul the whole thing. Pretty much other than the graphics the game was complete shit. The map was waaaay too small, story was dry, loading screens out the ass, overly grindy, no real player character customization, skins, dyes, pets ect. Lack of any end game content, lame loot drops that didn't make sense. No player buldible housing.. Devs should have learned by now that shit games similar to Diablo 4 do not sell well because the games outlive their playability after so much time. There simply isn't enough to do. Between pay to win bs micro transactions, forced pvp and lack of any real meaningful end game content games just fizzle out and the companies that develop these lazy crap cash grabs get a bad reputation that makes players look elsewhere. Do better ffs.

It only costs 1000 credits to fully repair and fuel your ship. Right there is where a simple fix can help rid some of that money. Make it percentage based on a players level and jack up the price. Also the more damaged the ship and the more fuel consumed the higher the price. Armor and weapon repair is another feature that should be implemented. Make that level percentage based as well.
