It could be because there is no beating it because there is no end game. You play forever. Start with sims they grow they live they have families careers and die. Any remaining sims are descendants of the first. Just like real life. Some times the reaper doesn't let them get to a full life i had one die twice back to back before right after I created her. One tip always do mods. It makes it more interesting. Although the dont have a lot of CCs out there for plus sized black sim baddies. Someone needs to fix that.
