Co-op gamers should be excited about the new games coming to the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus for July 2023. PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to free games every month, while those signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers also get access to a rotating selection of other games. The next batch of PS Plus Extra games will hit the subscription service Tuesday, July 18, and co-op gamers especially will want to pay attention to the lineup.
In total, 15 games will be added to PS Plus Extra with the July 18 update. As usual, the new PS Plus Extra games represent a variety of genres. There should be something for everyone when it comes to the next PS Plus Extra update, but those looking for a co-op game to play will have the most options to choose from.
The PS Plus Extra games coming on July 15 feature multiple co-op gaming experiences, with a mix of local and online co-op titles available. The lineup is headlined by the award-winning It Takes Two, arguably one of the best co-op games ever made, with other co-op games on the way including Sniper Elite 5, World War Z, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated (for the horde mode), The Ascent, Dysmantle, Dynasty Warriors 9, Samurai Warriors 5, and My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure (for some of the content in the game).

Those wanting a shooter game inspired by Left 4 Dead should play World War Z, while those looking for an isometric action-RPG should try The Ascent when it's added to the lineup on July 18.
The free PS Plus games for July 2023, also available to those who are signed up for the PS Plus Extra tier, include Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which also has co-op content for fans to check out. While the campaign isn't co-op, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War brings back the fan favorite Zombies mode that is built entirely with co-op in mind.
