One game, available to members in the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus on day one, has gotten a new update, as patch 1.07 for Humanity is now live. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers get to play new games every month, as Sony updates the catalog of titles regularly.
Sony also adds some games as day one releases on PS Plus, allowing members to play these titles at no extra cost on release. As an example, Stray was added as a day one PS Plus Extra and Premium game in 2022, with Tchia and Humanity launching earlier this year. Now, Humanity has just received a new update, adding some new features and gameplay elements to the title.
As reported by Push Square, update 1.07 for Humanity is now available on all platforms, and the developer has shared a short video featuring an overview of the new aspects. It adds machines to the stage creator in Humanity, giving players access to even more tools and gameplay mechanics while creating levels. Additionally, it comes with bug fixes for a variety of issues, including problems that would previously prevent gamers from using their mouse to select stages. An issue that would prevent users from obtaining the Wonderdog achievement has also been fixed as a part of this update.
Humanity launched as a day one PS Plus Extra release in May 2023, alongside a bunch of other notable games. The full list included Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs: Legion, Dishonored 2, and more, with titles like Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and Pursuit Force available to Premium subscribers.
While Sony sometimes adds games to PS Plus Extra and Premium on day one, first party titles often appear after a year or two. Sony recently reiterated its stance on day one PS Plus games, stating that the current strategy of adding games to PS Plus later in their lifecycles will continue in the future. So, fans will not get access to AAA first-party games on day one, but they can sometimes get to play new indie titles on launch.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members will get more games in July 2023, as Sony refreshes the catalog in just a few days. PS Plus Extra members can play It Takes Two, Sniper Elite 5, The Ascent, Undertale, World War Z, and more, with Premium users also getting access to Gravity Crash Portable, Twisted Metal, and Twisted Metal 2.
