- Telling Lies, a critical darling from 2019, will exit PS Plus Extra on June 18.
- 14 games in total have been confirmed to be leaving PS Plus Extra in June 2024 so far.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have discovered that Telling Lies is leaving the subscription service on June 18, despite not being listed in the Leaving Soon section. PlayStation Plus Extra offers subscribers a rotating selection of PS4 and PS5 games. But while new games are added to the service regularly, games are also removed just as often.
PS Plus Extra loses a batch of games once every month, usually on the same day as its new arrivals. May 2024 was a particularly brutal month for PS Plus, as the service lost 35 games between the Extra and Premium tiers. Some of these games were featured in the service's Leaving Soon section, so fans knew what to expect, but a few others only made themselves known through their individual PlayStation Store listings. It seems the same thing is happening in June, as fans have discovered a game leaving PS Plus Extra that was not initially highlighted in the Leaving Soon section.
As discovered by Reddit user 14sammy2, Telling Lies is leaving PS Plus Extra on June 18. Telling Lies joins 13 other games leaving PS Plus Extra in June, with Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace, Dodgeball Academia, Grand Theft Auto 5, Indivisible, Monster Jam: Steel Titans, MotoGP 23, Slime Rancher, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition, The Wild at Heart, and Unturned all getting the boot as well. PS Plus Premium subscribers will be losing access to all these titles plus Baja: Edge of Control HD. Most of these games were found in the Leaving Soon section as soon as the departures were announced, though Slime Rancher and now Telling Lies were exceptions.

For those unfamiliar with Telling Lies, the 2019 interactive movie game was developed by Sam Barlow, known for titles like Her Story and more recently, Immortality. Barlow's games have consistently earned critical acclaim, and Telling Lies is no exception to the rule. In fact, Telling Lies won multiple awards in 2019, and enjoyed high review scores across all its available platforms. In the game, players have to sift through live-action footage of four individuals to unravel the underlying mystery. Its gameplay should be reminiscent to anyone that has tried Barlow's other work, and fans of the developer should be sure to play it while it's still available through PS Plus Extra.
June 18 will be a sad day for PS Plus Extra with all these departures, but the good news is that the service will be getting plenty of new games this month as well. The full lineup has yet to be revealed, but PS Plus Extra subscribers do know that Cricket 24 is coming to the service on June 5 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition is coming on June 7.
