Tuesday, May 21 is shaping up to be particularly sad for those subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra, as at least 34 games are getting removed from the lineup on that day. PS Plus Extra gives subscribers access to a huge library of games, including some of the best PS4 and PS5 games ever made. New games are added to PS Plus Extra on a regular basis, but there are times when games are given the boot as well.

Typically, a batch of PS Plus Extra games are removed from the service in the middle of every month. Generally speaking, it seems that most of the time, more new games are added to PS Plus Extra than are removed, but there are definitely times when the departures outweigh the new arrivals. Sony hasn't announced the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in May 2024, so it remains to be seen how this month's ratio will look, but with 34 games leaving, it's hard to see how the new arrivals will match them.

A staggering 34 games are leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2024, with all the games scheduled to be removed on Tuesday, May 21. 25 of these games were added to PlayStation Plus' "leaving soon" section, while two other titles were discovered by users that ended up on their PlayStation Store pages: beloved PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning are also apparently going to be removed on May 21.

There are certainly some heavy hitters leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2024. Horizon Zero Dawn is arguably the biggest departure, but fans will definitely miss the Final Fantasy games that are being removed as well. May 21 is going to be a bloodbath for Final Fantasy on PS Plus Extra, as Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, and World of Final Fantasy are all going to be removed from the service. This is definitely disappointing, but hopefully some of the new additions make up for it.

Sony has yet to announce the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in May 2024, but more information on that front should come to light within the next couple of weeks. It's highly unlikely that there will be enough new games to completely replace the 34 titles that are leaving on May 21, but hopefully there are some big additions to help fill the giant voids that are soon going to be left in the PS Plus Extra library.
