A new PS Plus Extra and Premium game selection for September 2023 leak claims it will include, among others, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Sid Meier's Civilization 6, and Unpacking. According to this leaker, this selection serves as the headliners of the selection, so PS Plus subscribers and fans shouldn't expect any games that are bigger than these.

While a fine selection in and of itself, many PS Plus subscribers are not likely to be happy with this selection. It's under more scrutiny than normal because of the recent PS Plus price increase and, in general, the downward trend of recent selections. Now, because this is a leak, fans should take it with a grain of salt still, but the key thing is that all leaks live and die by their source. The track record for this leaker would suggest that fans can expect this to be dead-on because they have accurately leaked multiple PS Plus game selections in the past.

This leak comes from Billbil-kun who used to regularly leak the PS Plus free games every month, and while the leaks have become less regular, they have not suffered in terms of veracity. According to Billbil-kun, the PS Plus Extra and Premium headliners are NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139..., Star Ocean: The Divine Force, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Sid Meier's Civilization 6, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, and Unpacking. And while some of these titles have cult followings or major AAA backing (games like Civilization 6), most of these do not really feel like headliners for one reason or another. Nonetheless, fans should adjust their expectations accordingly.

PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for September 2023 Leaked List

  • NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139...
  • Star Ocean: The Divine Force
  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
  • Sid Meier's Civilization 6
  • Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2
  • Unpacking

While each game is fine in its own right, together they don't make a compelling selection - at least, hopefully, until fans see what else there is on offer. Luckily, PS Plus is sticking to its typical pattern, and Billbil-kun has said fans will know the rest of the games on September 13. They can crudely expect a dozen more, given the sheer volume of games made available on PS Plus Extra and Premium every month.

In the meantime, as well as after that date, fans can still claim the PS Plus free games for September 2023. These include Saints Row, Black Desert: Traveler Edition, and Generation Zero. All three are open-world titles, but with limited appeal or a negative reception. Saints Row developer Volition also shut down this month, leaving an extra sour taste in the mouths of PS Plus fans.

PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
