Sony has officially revealed the new games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus on September 16. PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to new games on a monthly basis, with a batch of free games given away to Essential tier subscribers at the beginning of the month and the Extra and Premium tiers updated in the middle of the month.
The free PS Plus games for September 2025 feature some fairly heavy hitters. Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder are all up for grabs for PS Plus subscribers to claim as long as they do so before October 7. In the meantime, those signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers have some fresh games to look forward to next week.
PS Plus Subscribers Shouldn’t Miss the Forest for the Valley in September 2025
A beloved indie game is heading to PS Plus' Essential tier this September, but its appearance shouldn't overshadow the rest of the month's offerings.
On Tuesday, September 16, PS Plus Extra subscribers can look forward to Conscript, Crow Country, Fate/Samurai Remnant, Green Hell, Persona 5 Tactica, The Invincible, and WWE 2K25. WWE 2K25 earned mostly positive reviews and isn't even a year old yet, so it should make for a pretty solid addition to the PS Plus Extra lineup. PS Plus Premium subscribers will get access to all the Extra games plus the PS2 action-adventure game Legacy of Kain: Defiance.

The Legacy of Kain games have slowly been added to PS Plus since last year, and now that Legacy of Kain: Defiance has made its debut, the entire series is playable on PS4 and PS5. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen 2 are already part of PS Plus, while Soul Reaver and its sequel are available as part of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered collection.
The new game additions coming to PS Plus on September 16 should ensure that it's a big day for the subscription service, but there are also games leaving that same day. Dragon's Crown Pro, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, Pistol Whip, Road 96, The Plucky Squire, and UFC 5 are all leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on September 16. Needless to say, any PlayStation Plus subscribers that want to experience those games through their subscription will want to make sure that they find some time to do so ASAP, as time is certainly running out.
