The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus have been updated and now include eight fresh games for subscribers to check out. The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus are updated on a monthly basis, and so subscribers regularly have something new to play.
Those signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus aren't restricted to just playing the games added to those tiers. They are also free to snag the free games added to the Essential tier of PlayStation Plus as well. The free PS Plus games for September 2025 are available for subscribers to claim right now as well, and include some big-name releases. For those that may have missed the announcement, the free PS Plus games for September 2025 consist of 3D platformer Psychonauts 2, farm/life sim Stardew Valley, and puzzle game Viewfinder.
New PS Plus Games for September 2025 Are Available Now
Those who are subscribed to PS Plus Essential or higher have three new games to claim, as the latest batch for September 2025 are available now.
PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have been able to claim the free games for a couple of weeks, and now they can check out the new titles added specifically to those tiers. The new PS Plus Extra games for September 2025 are Conscript, Crow Country, Fate/Samurai Remnant, Green Hell, Persona 5 Tactica, The Invincible, and WWE 2K25. Those signed up for PS Plus Premium can play all of those games as well as Legacy of Kain: Defiance.

While this isn't the biggest update to the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries this year, it's a fairly solid one. Conscript and Crow Country are great for horror game fans, while those wanting to experience the complete Legacy of Kain experience can now do so on PS4 and PS5 thanks to the debut of Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Persona 5 Tactica should appeal to fans of strategy games, especially if they are big into Persona 5, and WWE 2K25 is a well-reviewed wrestling game that's not even a year old yet, adding significant value to the service.
Unfortunately, the latest update to PS Plus Extra and Premium also meant that some games were given the boot. PS Plus removed seven games with the latest update, with Dragon's Crown Pro, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Pistol Whip, Road 96, The Plucky Squire, and UFC 5 all shown the door.
