Summary

  • September's free PS Plus games include Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 2.
  • PS Plus Extra subscribers get extra value, with new game releases like The Plucky Squire on launch day in September.

The free PlayStation Plus games for September 2024 have been revealed. Every month, those subscribed to the Essential tier of PlayStation Plus are treated to three free games that they can claim and keep for their digital libraries. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can claim these free games as well, though the Essential games differ from the Extra and Premium games in one big way.

The monthly free PS Plus games can be kept by subscribers forever as long as they stay subscribed to PS Plus, whereas the Extra and Premium games are rotated in and out of availability. This makes the PS Plus Essential games especially valuable for PlayStation gamers, and so they should be sure to snag the fresh batch of titles when they're made available on September 3.

Sony's PlayStation Plus is an enticing subscription service that offers a lot of value. Here is almost everything someone needs to know about PS Plus.

Starting September 3, PlayStation Plus subscribers can get Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 2. All three games have native PS4 and PS5 versions available, so PlayStation fans won't be left out regardless if they've upgraded to Sony's latest console or not. It remains to be seen how PS Plus subscribers will react to these offerings, but it does seem like a pretty solid lineup, all things considered.

Free PS Plus Games for September 2024

  • Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
  • Little Nightmares 2
  • MLB The Show 24

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a day one game, so it being free to PS Plus subscribers in September 2024 delivers quite a bit of value. MLB The Show 24 was released just six months ago, so it's also an impressive addition to the PS Plus lineup. Little Nightmares 2, meanwhile, is a well-regarded side-scrolling horror game. While some fans may not be happy with getting what are essentially two free sports games in Quidditch Champions and MLB The Show 24, others will be glad that they're getting a day one game and a relatively new release with their subscription.

Of course, those signed up for the more expensive PS Plus tiers are getting even more bang for their buck. Someone that's signed up for PS Plus Extra will not only get Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions on day one, but they can also look forward to playing The Plucky Squire on the day of its release as well. The Plucky Squire is launching September 17 as a day one PS Plus Extra game, making September especially stacked for the service.

While PS Plus subscribers wait for the September freebies to be available, they can make sure that they've claimed the August 2024 free games in the meantime.
