PlayStation Plus members now know which titles will be hitting the service in August. PlayStation Plus offers three games each month as part of the Essential plan, and Sony has announced that Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero: One’s Justice 2 will be the next to be added. All three will be free to claim for those on the Essential and higher tiers beginning on August 5 through September 2, and each brings something to the table for fans across a couple of great genres and styles.
This month's lineup reveal came one day earlier than expected, as Sony usually provides the titles on the last Wednesday of each month.
August 19 is Going to Be a Big Day for PlayStation Plus
Tuesday, August 19 is shaping up to be a particularly big day for PlayStation Plus subscribers signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers.
Lies of P
Read The Best War Games's Review of Lies of P
One of the most striking and successful Soulslikes in recent memory, Lies of P's dark spin on the classic fairy tale of Pinocchio in a haunting Gothic world resulted in a wholly compelling experience. Developer Neowiz took the familiar framework and characters and dropped them into a Victorian steampunk setting full of danger and mystery. True to the genre's standards, Lies of P features tight combat that accommodates a host of adaptable playstyles along with excellent enemy and level design. With the Overture DLC having just released back in June, Lies of P coming to PS+ shortly after gives players plenty of reason to check it out now, as it stands out as one of the best takes on the genre and a fantastic title on its own merits.

DayZ
Beginning its life as a mod for Arma 2, DayZ has since gone on to become one of the longest-lasting and well-liked multiplayer online survival titles. After spending an extended five-year period in early access, the full PC version was released in 2018, being ported to consoles in 2019. DayZ offers an intense take on open-world FPS survival, as players must navigate, scavenge, and work to survive in a fictional post-Soviet state based on real-world locations, but one that is infested with hordes of infected. Featuring absolutely massive maps and tons of possibilities for emergent gameplay, the title coming to PS Plus also means fans can dive into it in preparation for DayZ' s upcoming expansion, set to drop next year.

My Hero: One’s Justice 2
After The King of Fighters 15 was part of July's batch, PS Plus is continuing the fighting game streak with its own combo. My Hero: One’s Justice 2 is based on the popular manga series, My Hero Academia, and is the follow-up to the original 2018 game. Like it, One’s Justice 2 is an arena fighter with a roster of cool characters that have grown through various DLCs since 2020. It also features a full English-language voice option. Full of explosive and flashy action, My Hero: One’s Justice 2 is perfect for players looking to test their skills in visually impressive matches.
