Summary

  • Six games are leaving the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus in June 2025.
  • Some of the games leaving include Monster Hunter Rise, Inscryption, and Rogue Legacy 2.
  • PS Plus subscribers have expressed frustration with recent departures.

PlayStation Plus subscribers should brace themselves as another six games are scheduled to leave the service in June 2025. The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus give subscribers access to a rotating selection of games. Similar to Xbox Game Pass or Netflix, subscribers only have access to the games while they are on the service.

This is in contrast to the PS Plus Essential games. Every month, PS Plus Essential gives subscribers free games that they can claim for their digital libraries. As long as one stays signed up for PlayStation Plus, they can play the monthly free games they've claimed through the service. Extra and Premium tier games are no longer playable once they get the boot. This is to be expected, but the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus have taken a beating recently, losing heavy hitters like Batman: Arkham Knight and Grand Theft Auto 5 without equivalent replacements.

The next batch of games being removed from PlayStation Plus will depart the Extra and Premium tiers of the service on June 17, or thereabouts. While it's entirely possible that more games will be added to the list of games leaving PS Plus in June 2025, we know that After Us, AVICII Invector, Inscryption, Kayak VR: Mirage, Monster Hunter Rise, and Rogue Legacy 2 are all on the chopping block. Needless to say, PlayStation Plus subscribers interested in these games should definitely make it a point to play them before they are removed from the service on June 17.

PS Plus Extra and Premium Games Leaving Soon (June 2025)

  • After Us
  • AVICII Invector
  • Inscryption
  • Kayak VR: Mirage
  • Monster Hunter Rise
  • Rogue Legacy 2

Out of these games, there are a few that PS Plus subscribers may want to prioritize over others. Monster Hunter Rise is an excellent co-op game that earned critical acclaim at the time of its release. It features a traditional Monster Hunter experience, but with some clever new twists on the formula like the Palamutes and expanded Wirebug functionality. Inscryption, meanwhile, is a roguelike deckbuilder with horror elements that similarly earned acclaim from critics. And finally, there's Rogue Legacy 2, a roguelike action platformer from 2022 that earned even higher acclaim than its predecessor.

PlayStation VR2 owners may be especially sad to see Kayak VR: Mirage removed from the PS Plus lineup. The addition of VR games to PS Plus Premium made the subscription worth it for some subscribers that purchased Sony's latest VR headset, and to see them all get removed is painful, to say the least. The PS Plus Premium updates have been especially upsetting because not only has the tier been losing VR games, it has also added hardly anything when compared to the PS Plus Extra additions. In fact, the latest PS Plus Premium update features only one PS Plus Premium-exclusive title. Hopefully things turn around, and these coming months are full of exciting updates for the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus.
