PS Plus Premium Adds Trophies to 4 Old-School Games

Sony has added trophies to four games available through the PlayStation Plus Premium retro game lineup, giving fans the chance to snag some Platinum trophies while revisiting older titles. PlayStation gamers get the most bang for their buck with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. Not only do they get access to all the content available in the PS Plus Essential and Extra tiers, but they also have the ability to play a nice selection of retro games.

PS Plus Premium actually enhances its retro titles in many ways, improving visuals, adding quality of life features like save states, and in many cases, even featuring trophy support. There have been many classic games added to the PS Plus Premium lineup without trophies, but there have also been many others that have supported the feature. And as of the latest update, there are now even more PS Plus Premium games with trophy support.

As pointed out by Push Square, four classic games available on PS Plus Premium have been updated to include trophy support. As of now, PS Plus Premium subscribers can unlock trophies in Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, and Toy Story 3. It's unclear what triggered Sony to add trophies to these PS Plus Premium games, but here's hoping it's a sign to come, as there are still other classic games that are currently missing trophy support.

It's great to see more PS Plus Premium games add trophy support, but there are still some titles that have yet to see the feature added. Notably, Resident Evil: Director's Cut, the enhanced version of the original Resident Evil on PS1, is still missing trophy support at the time of this writing. Sony has not announced plans to add trophies to any other classic PS Plus Premium games, but it seems the updates can come at any time.
