PlayStation has officially revealed the best-selling PS5 games for May 2025, and half of the top ten are made by various Xbox-owned studios. Although the best-selling games for the month vary depending on the region, titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered have dominated the charts and become just some of the most sought-after games on the PlayStation 5.
While plenty of new, triple-A games dominated the PlayStation 5 charts last month, Star Wars Battlefront 2's unexpected player resurgence has clearly made an impact, as the 2017 title has soared to the top of the PlayStation 4 charts. Shortly after the overwhelming success of Andor Season 2, Star Wars fans around the world joined forces to send a big message to EA: green light Star Wars Battlefront 3. While some started petitions, most of the community jumped back into Star Wars Battlefront 2, even breaking the game's concurrent player count record on Steam for the first time since 2021. The hope is that EA will see the desire for a third game, but so far the studio has yet to comment on the game's resurgence.

Although there are plenty of great games on the way, Hideo Kojima's next title is undoubtedly the most anticipated of the bunch. Those eager to see more from Death Stranding 2 will want to check out the premiere event on June 8.
Xbox fans also have plenty to look forward to, as a new Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 8. Although the only confirmed game for the event so far is The Outer Worlds 2, a recent leak claimed five other massive titles will make an appearance, including Hollow Knight: Silksong, Ninja Gaiden 4, Persona 4 Remake, and more. Of course, gamers should always keep their expectations in check when it comes to big events, but those eager to see what Xbox has in store will need to tune in to the Showcase on Sunday, June 8, at 10 AM PT.
