Set to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 7, Contraband Police brings the vigilant duties of border inspection to life with addictive gameplay and meaningful decision-making.

Most aptly compared to games like Papers, Please, Contraband Police has been praised for its realistic, intuitive mechanics, which require players to thoroughly inspect the paperwork and vehicles of individuals crossing borders in a fictional communist country during the 1980s. Smuggling, corruption, and forgery all place puzzle-like hurdles for players to cleverly overcome, as players are given the opportunity for their actions to have a genuine impact on the world of Contraband Police.

Contraband Police Console Release

In celebration of the game reaching close to 1.5 million downloads on Steam, developer Crazy Rocks and publisher PlayWay have announced a console launch date of November 7 for Contraband Police. Many have applauded the game's blend of document analysis, vehicle inspection, and occasional FPS gunplay for creating a lifelike sense of tension that carries both risk and satisfaction with each border crossing. Players are tasked with balancing document regulation, smuggling detection, police chases, and post management, with a variety of defensive upgrades and tools like UV lights to help along the way. Similar to other games about working a real job, Contraband Police puts players in control of each scenario, with multiple ways to progress through every inspection.

Along with its console launch, Contraband Police will also be releasing a special Collector's Edition, available for pre-order starting November 6, which will include a hand-painted 20cm figure, a smuggler's crate-shaped box, an in-game map poster, an Acaristani flag, a duty handbook, a game logo magnet, exclusive DLC content, and the base PC (Steam) version of the game with the Crimson Fall DLC.
