A Stellar Blade fan has outfitted their PlayStation 5 and DualSense with a look that matches the game's protagonist, Eve. Now that Stellar Blade is a massive success, gamers are excited to see even more from the South Korean studio Shift Up. The developer has expressed plans to release a Stellar Blade sequel as well as a new cross-platform title currently codenamed Project Witches in the coming years, but in the immediate future, fans will be getting a DLC crossover with NieR: Automata, which is one of Stellar Blade's main inspirations.
Stellar Blade was a runaway hit on the PlayStation 5, with sales getting ahead of Sea of Thieves and Helldivers 2 shortly after its launch. Although there is more on the horizon for the game, with sequel plans and a DLC cameo in Astro Bot cementing its legacy in the PlayStation gaming family, there hasn't been much merchandise showing off the game's style. One fan has decided to take matters into their own hands by decorating their PlayStation 5 console along with its controller.
Reddit user eXclurel has given their PlayStation 5 system and DualSense controller a Stellar Blade-themed makeover, dressing the faceplates in green and silver, with a strip of text between, then using the same coat of green over the DualSense's bottom center plate. The appearance reflects protagonist Eve's Planet Diving Suit (7th), her default costume in Stellar Blade. Fans voiced appreciation for the effort that's gone into this design, although it seems like somewhat of a missed opportunity that PlayStation and Shift Up have not released similar products.
Gamer Gives PS5 A Stellar Blade Nano Suit
Now that Stellar Blade is one of the PlayStation 5's best-selling games, Shift Up may receive even more of the first-party treatment that other story-driven action titles like it and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 do. When it arrived, Spider-Man 2 received special edition faceplates that sold out near-instantly, but nearly five years into the console's life, there have been few similar products released.
One notable set of merchandise that makes gamers' systems and controllers appear more flashy is the PlayStation 30th anniversary line. These systems are styled to look like the original PlayStation console with a gray finish, classic PlayStation button colors, and markings that specify the release order of the limited edition systems. These keep the hype for PlayStation 5 consoles in a way that's similar to this fan's Stellar Blade design, and based on the enjoyment that fans have voiced for eXclurel's designs, an official design could be a fun move for Shift Up and PlayStation to make once the sequel is ready.
