PlayStation 5 gamers have 11 high-profile new games releasing in September 2025 that they should mark their calendars for. The PlayStation 5 has had a steady stream of new games since the console's debut in 2020, ensuring that there is always something new to play. Even so, the summer months are notoriously slow when it comes to new video game releases, and the PS5 is not immune to that phenomenon.

That's not to say that there haven't been major new PS5 games released this summer. In fact, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach released for PS5 in June as an exclusive game and has become one of the highest-rated new releases of the year. Still, the next few months are going to be absolutely ridiculous for the PS5, as the fall gaming rush is about to go into full swing.

Hell is Us is bringing its unique brand of brutal action adventure gameplay to PS5 on September 4, while the very next day, Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team is releasing its new sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn alongside NBA 2K26. September 12 will see the release of the long-awaited Borderlands 4 alongside NHL 26, while the critically-acclaimed Frostpunk 2 is coming to PS5 on September 18. Dying Light: The Beast, originally slated for launch in August, will see the return of fan-favorite protagonist Kyle Crane on September 19. Clearly, PS5 games are going to be extremely busy in September. Time will tell how all these games turn out, but even if just a few live up to expectations, September 2025 is going to be a very exciting month for PS5 gamers.
