The cult classic horror game P.T. Has yet another fan remake revealed. This time, though, things get a bit strange as the new take on the classic game is something that no one has done for this game before, yet it is surprisingly effective at creating a spooky environment.

This time around, the P.T. Remake is dubbed Hyper P.T. Because it was recreated using HyperCard, an extremely outdated development tool that was used for Macs. HyperCard is unique because it makes use of Hyperlinks in order to pull information needed to create a game.

Ryan Trawick, the mind behind Hyper P.T. Recreated the game while at Merveilles HyperJam, an event in which many programmers remade small games using HyperCard rather than standard development tools. The result is what is best described as a Lo-Fi horror game, as the HyperCard method doesn't allow for incredible, triple-A results. Still, the Lo-Fi horror genre has its own merits.

For those wanting to experience Hyper P.T. In all of its black and white glory, the game can be downloaded for free on Trawick's itch.io page, but the experience may not be quite as familiar as most fans expect. Given that P.T. Has been remade in so many different fashions before, most fans of the playable teaser know all of its ins and outs. For this reason, Trawick made some changes to the game, in his own words, "some stuff is stripped back, some stuff is added; you'll just have to play it to find out."

Trawick uses the limitations of the HyperCard development tool to his advantage, as the extremely scaled back version of the game helps add a level of mystery to something which so many have experienced countless times. The black and white graphics and sharp lines of everything make the experience feel alien in a similar way that the original version of the game did before all of the remakes came about. Beyond this, it is clear that Trawick himself was very familiar with the game, as the P.T. House is recreated with stunning accuracy.

The original version of the popular game Myst was actually created using HyperCard as well, and the similarities between that game and the new remake are quite apparent. Trawick definitely deserves recognition for this bizarre yet satisfying remake of the Konami cult classic, P.T.

Hyper P.T. Is available now exclusively on Trawick's itch.io page.
