Salvaging objects is the most crucial action players can do in Raft. It is as essential as eating and drinking, mainly because those two activities won’t be possible if players stop collecting materials.
Nevertheless, eventually, people may find themselves with a large number of materials they don’t need. This can vary from basic items in Raft like Plastics to less-common ones, like Feathers.
Fortunately, unwanted materials can simply be thrown away in the game. Dropped items will disappear after a while, so they won’t be scattered around the raft. However, if possible, it’s better if people hoard the unwanted items until they can make Trash Cubes in Raft.
How To Get Trash Cubes In Raft
To get Trash Cubes in Raft, players have to own the Recycler and throw sufficient materials into it. Afterward, this special item can be used to trade at the Trading Post. Since materials will be needed to make Trash Cubes, players shouldn't throw away any materials, even if they don’t need the items.
After getting the Trash Cubes, players can now carry them to exchange in the Trading Post. Considering the building only exist on an island with dangerous Raft animals, it’s a great idea to be careful as dying may require players to respawn. When this happens, they will lose two-thirds of their inventory (if the game’s difficulty is normal or higher).
How To Get And Use The Recycler
To get the Recycler in Raft, players must first visit the Radio Tower. This place will start the chain for the storyline in the game, where people will slowly find out what’s really going on in the game’s world.
After getting the Blueprint, head back to the raft to make the machine. For that, players have to prepare:
- Metal Ingot x4
- Bolt or Hinge x2
- Circuit Board x1
Next, the machine has to be filled with materials. Simply hold an object and press the action button on it. After putting enough things, one Trash Cube will be made after around three minutes.
Note that only certain materials can be used for this gadget, and more-valuable items will speed up the Recycler’s counter. For example, Stone is only worth six points whereas Metal Ingot is worth 75.
To make one Trash Cube in Raft, people need to accumulate 300 points. Here’s how every material is weighted:
