You can lean around cover in Rainbow Six Siege. To do so, aim down the sights and press in the left stick or right stick to lean in a chosen direction. This way, you can peek around corners and spot an enemy before they notice you. Be cautious, as you may get caught peeking. Hip leaning is the act of leaning without aiming down your sights. This is useful as you will have a wider field of view and can aim quicker than when you are ADS. You can even blind fire while hip leaning. It's a handy way to react to a situation faster than your opponents.
All you have to do to enable hip leaning on console and controller is open the settings. Go to controller options and set the leaning behavior from standard to Alternate. You can spend some time in the training area to get used to these hip leaning controls.
