Rainbow Six Siege has just teased an official crossover with Metal Gear Solid. The 15-second teaser trailer shows what appears to be a brand new Rainbow Six Siege Operator inspired by Metal Gear Solid protagonist Solid Snake.
Rainbow Six Siege has come a long way since its launch back in 2015. At release, Rainbow Six Siege featured 20 Operators, each coming with their own unique abilities and being categorized into either 'Attackers' or 'Defenders.' Flash forward a little over a decade and Rainbow Six Siege is currently home to 76 playable Operators, with the most recent Operator, Denari, arriving back in September 2025. Rainbow Six Siege has also added a handful of game modes, some key quality of life improvements, and a wealth of cosmetics over the years, some of which have borrowed designs from other popular IPs.

Rainbow Six Siege is Teasing a Solid Snake Operator
On January 29, Rainbow Six Siege social media accounts posted a short 15-second teaser trailer. This teaser opens with the iconic sound effect of Metal Gear Solid's Codec radio, and the same Codec UI used in MGS appears on-screen. Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher (known in Rainbow Six Siege as the Operator 'Zero') appears at the top left of the Codec call, urgently saying the line "Our window is closing. We only get one shot at this." The camera then cuts to a smoke-filled room with red lighting, and as the background music swells, an unknown figure is seen readying a sidearm, a figure that seems to be adorned in Solid Snake's famed gray stealth suit.
The teaser trailer ends with a message that the full Metal Gear Solid x Rainbow Six Siege crossover reveal is coming Sunday, February 15 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 5pm CET, and that eager fans can watch via the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel. This livestream will also reveal Rainbow Six Siege's Year 11 roadmap, which will presumably tease a handful of other Operators and features not related to this Metal Gear Solid collaboration.
Currently, it's unknown what this Rainbow Six Siege x Metal Gear Solid crossover will contain. While Solid Snake was seemingly shown in the teaser, this could just be an outfit for an already existing R6 Operator, as would be tradition for Rainbow Six Siege crossovers. That said, a very recent rumor started by X user @Shiiny77 and then corroborated by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson claimed that Solid Snake will be a fully-fledged Operator and that he will be released alongside Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 1, which will begin in March.
Leaker @Shiiny77 has also claimed that Rainbow Six Siege's Solid Snake Operator is codenamed 'Diamond', and that he'll come with a secondary weapon inspired by both Metal Gear Solid's Socom MK23 suppressed pistol and Metal Gear Solid V's Wu Silent Pistol. This secondary will allegedly come equipped with a suppressor, an Acro scope, and a laser aim module that makes the weapon look like its MGS1 counterpart. This looks a lot like the weapon seen in the teaser. Though Shiiny77's leaks haven't mentioned any, it seems likely that a Solid Snake Operator would also come with his own set of unique cosmetics, likely letting players pick between a few of his most iconic appearances.
If these rumors are true and Solid Snake does come to Rainbow Six Siege as a fully-fledged Operator, then that would mark a significant first for the tactical shooter. While Rainbow Six Siege has crossed over with Halo, Dead by Daylight, Yakuza, Nier, Resident Evil, and more, they've only ever appeared as cosmetics for already-established Operators. Aside from Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher (who comes from a Ubisoft-owned property), Solid Snake would be the first Rainbow Six Siege Operator inspired by another video game IP.
