Ubisoft has released a new patch for the Test Server of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege that addresses a list of bugs, including several that affected the star operator of Year 9 Season 4, Blackbeard. The separate client, which is only available to Rainbow Six Siege players on PC, is used to test features and changes that are coming to the tactical shooter via future updates.

Recently, Ubisoft revealed more details regarding the next season of Rainbow Six Siege, Operation Collision Point. A highlight of the major update, also known as Y9S4, is the rework of Craig "Blackbeard" Jensen, one of the title's American characters. For Operation Collision Point, Ubisoft took away Blackbeard's previous gadget, the flawed Rifle-Shield, and turned him into a full-fledged shield operator like fellow Attacker Blitz. Many have been able to check out the reworked operator on the Y9S4 Test Server, but Ubisoft is still trying to iron out some kinks before Operation Collision Point launches on December 3.

New Study Claims to Reveal Games With the Best Anti-Cheat Software

A study reveals the games with the best anti-cheat initiatives and other important data on the games industry's fight against this recurring problem.

In a post on the Rainbow Six Siege Test Server subreddit, community manager Ubi-Zurik revealed that the Day 5 patch for the Y9S4 test client featured gameplay and audio fixes. Several of these were connected to Blackbeard's new H.U.L.L. Adaptable Shield, such as the one that made the gadget block a player's sight in first-person when aiming down with a weapon or vaulting. Another bug that affected Rainbow Six Siege operator Deimos delayed the character's animation upon aiming down the sights of his unique.44 Vendetta sidearm. Ubi-Zurik noted that the changes made in the Y9S4 Test Server, which went live on November 18, will not necessarily have any effect on the public clients of the game.

Aside from reworking Blackbeard, Operation Collision Point will make significant changes to Sens and Thunderbird. The former will finally be able to manually control the light projectors of their primary Attacker gadget in Rainbow Six Siege once Y9S4 drops, a change that should allow for more flexibility and creativity in how Sens players can use the device, according to Ubisoft. Meanwhile, the pellets from Thunderbird's Kona Station will now heal players over time until they reach their full health or take damage.

Ubisoft will also roll out console to PC crossplay, implement matchmaking improvements, and introduce enhanced player protection systems in Operation Collision Point. The company released a promising update regarding its ongoing anti-cheat and anti-toxicity efforts in Rainbow Six Siege in October. Ubisoft said prior to the start of Year 9 that it intended to reinforce the player protection systems of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
