How to Find Every Bounty in Red Dead Redemption (All RDR1…

Red Dead Redemption is a game about choices; not just those of the player, but also of the character who they spend most of their time controlling. The story sees John Marston having to face the consequences of his past decisions as he attempts to turn over a new leaf and start a new life with his wife and son.

In keeping with this theme, players will be given the option to complete bounty hunts, which, as well as being a great way to make money in Red Dead Redemption, also play an important role in John's character arc. Every RDR1 bounty hunt is a little different, but there are still plenty of parallels between John and the criminals that he's tasked with tracking down.

Every Bounty in Red Dead Redemption 1

There are 45 potential bounties in Red Dead Redemption, though players will only actually need to complete 20 bounty hunt missions to achieve 100% completion in RDR1. To initiate a hunt, they'll need to interact with a Bounty Poster, which can be found in all of the game's major settlements. Players can increase the chances of a poster being placed in a particular settlement just by being there. Bounties are generally placed at around 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, so it's a good idea to arrive at the settlement before these times and then wait around a bit until a lawman shows up.

As mentioned above, players will only need to complete 20 bounty hunts on their way toward 100% completion, though not just any old 20. Every RDR1 Bounty Hunt mission will be assigned a random isolated location somewhere within the region where the mission was first triggered. Players will need to complete a bounty in all twenty of these locations to reach 100% completion.

All New Austin Bounty Locations

There are eight potential bounty locations in the state of New Austin. Bounties that are picked up at Armadillo, MacFarlane's Ranch, or Rathskeller Fork will be assigned one of these locations at random and will then need to be turned in at either the Armadillo Jail or MacFarlane's Ranch foreman's office.
