Curious Resident Evil 4 players will likely come across several locked drawers while exploring the various locales. However, the drawers can only be opened if players have a small key in their inventory. There are eight locked drawers that are filled with treasure, and also eight small keys. By following this guide, Resident Evil 4 remake players can find all locked drawers and their keys. It's worth noting that there's no specific order in which the chests need to be opened, but players can get locked out from exploring after passing the point of no return in a later chapter. So, try and get the eight keys and open the drawers before getting too far.
Locked Drawer Locations in Resident Evil 4 Remake
- The first locked drawer on our list can be found at the Abandoned Factory in Chapter 2. Enter the factory's door to the Merchant's right and then enter the small side room to find a locked drawer. Inside is the Elegant Mask treasure, with a starting selling price of 5000 ptas.
- In Chapter 3, players can return to the Village Square to find a locked drawer in one of the homes. There are three major "houses" on the north side of the village. Go inside the middle house to find a drawer with a Vintage Compass treasure worth 8000 ptas.
- In Chapter 3, players will find a Merchant station in between the Fish Farm and the Quarry. If players are facing the Merchant, they should turn left and go down the ladder. Look in the area to the right to find the locked drawer with a Brass Pocket Watch worth 8000 ptas.
- In Chapter 4 of the Resident Evil 4 remake, fans can head to the Lakeside Settlement northwest of the large lake. Enter the house marked on the map below, and players will find the locked drawer with a Gold Bar, which is worth 15000 ptas when sold to the Merchant.
- The next locked drawer can be found outside the Church in Chapter 4 of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Take the side path to the right of the front entrance and enter the room with the typewriter. The drawer will be in there with a Yellow Diamond inside. It can be sold for ptas, but players should always embed treasures with these gems to get even more cash.
- Once players are in the castle in Chapter 8, they'll encounter a Lithographic Stone puzzle in an area called the Bindery. The locked drawer is on the eastern end of the room and contains a Brass Pocket Watch (which can be sold for 8000 ptas).
- Resident Evil 4 fans can find another locked drawer in the castle's Audience Chamber area, which is west of Water Hall and south of the Dungeons. The Gold Bar inside the drawer is worth 10000 ptas.
Small Key Locations in Resident Evil 4 Remake
- The first small key can be found in the Valley area just southeast of the Abandoned Factory. Head inside the shack (circled in red below) to find a container with a small key. Players will make their way here in Chapter 2.
- The next small key can be found inside the Village Chief's Manor in Chapter 2. The key is inside the living room atop a small box beside a sofa.
- Once players make their way through the Quarry and into the Fish Farm to get the fuel for the boat, they should check out the southwestern corner to find a wooden shack --the small key will be inside for the taking.
- The next small key can be obtained in Chapter 4 when players arrive at the Lakeside Settlement northwest of the large lake. There's a gate here that needs the Insignia Key to open. It leads to a cave with the blue note for the 'Catch me a big fish' Request. Opposite the note is a door that can be opened that leads to a small room with a ladder --climb it to reach an outdoor area. The small key will be on the back of a wagon next to a breakable item box.
- In Chapter 4, players finally open the church with the Church Insignia disk. Once inside, head to the altar in the front of the room and search the table on the right to find a small key.
- In Chapter 8, players will need to solve a tricky Lithographic Stone puzzle in the Castle's Bindery. After the puzzle, follow the path to find a note near a fireplace. Continue up some stairs and then turn left to find a small key on top of an open book on a box.
- In Chapter 9, players will eventually pass through the Grand Hall location, which is east of the Courtyard. Walk to the upper floor of the Grand Hall and enter through the door on the northwest corner. Players will see a table in the middle of the room with four chairs, and nearby is a cabinet with a small key inside.
- The next small key is found in Chapter 12 in the Castle's Ballroom, east of the Grand Hall and west of the Antechamber/Throne Room. Look inside a briefcase on a table near the purple Merchant flame.
- The last locked drawer is in the Castle Battlements. To get to the drawer's location, start from the save point typewriter in the Courtyard's upper room and head out the door to the east. Follow the linear path until you get outside to a locked gate. Shoot the dangling yellow container on the chain to the right to open the gate. Hug the right wall to find the drawer tucked in a corner. It has an Ornate Beetle inside it, which goes for 12000 ptas.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
