Each Officer that players recruit in Ready or Not's single-player campaign has a unique trait that will offer advantages to themselves and the squad, but which of them are the best? Players can only bring 4 Officers with them for every mission in Ready or Not, so it's worth knowing what every Officer trait can do, and which ones are the best, so that players have the maximum potential when it comes to their epic squad of law enforcement officers.

To succeed in Ready or Not, you need to be alert at all times.

12 Kicker

Kick Down Doors in One Kick

kicker officer
  • Description: You and your team can reliably kick down doors with just one kick.

While Kicker is decent enough for fast entries into rooms with locked doors, or doors that are currently unopened, it's a very risky and highly loud Officer trait. Most doors in the higher-tier levels will have traps behind them, so kicking in the door with just one kick isn't going to be the bonus players think it is, as they are just going to end up getting blown up when they trigger the explosion.

11 Paramedic

A Dead Officer Respawns After the Mission

Officer Location in Stolen Valor - Ready Or Not
  • Description: Saves the life of an officer incapacitated during the mission.

Paramedic's Officer trait is a tad underwhelming, as it will not revive an Officer in the middle of a mission. The Officer will still be out and seemingly dead, but once the mission has ended, the Officer will be alive and well. It should only be used for players who have strong feelings for a specific AI teammate and want to ensure that they survive a tough fight ahead, but remember, it's not exactly useful when players can just replace the dead Officer with a new AI ally in the next mission with the same trait.

10 Moral Officer

Arresting Living People Provides a Boost to Mental Heatlh

moral officer
  • Description: Makes it even more beneficial for your team's mental health to arrest suspects alive.

Nobody wants to be stressed out, especially in such intense situations that this game will put players into. With more horrible and dangerous situations, Officers will become stressed out. Stress will cause Officers to leave services, quit the force, and disobey orders, so the Moral Officer trait will ensure that stress levels and mental health remain high and content whenever an arrest is made of a living suspect, but this might not benefit the trained killers out there who elect for lethal force.

The best weapons in Ready or Not range from all categories of guns, but which of them will see players survive the challenging hostile encounters?

9 Riot Control

Provides Greater Stun Effect

  • Description: Increases the duration of all stuns dealt by you and your team.

If players like a good use of a flash grenade, then Riot Control is a great Officer trait to invest into. With this trait, players will have an increased duration to the stun that they deal to enemies, meaning a flash grenade launcher will make short work of a deadly room.

8 Veteran

Gives the AI Teammates Better Accuracy

  • Description: Increases the overall accuracy of your team.

Reducing bullet spread and reaction time for the AI, Veteran can come in clutch to make the AI have the eye of an eagle. With Veteran, players aren't going to see an improvement in their own accuracy, but it will help the AI to be superior combatants that sweep the room with maximum efficiency. It can be decent to have, but players might want to rely on their own accuracy, or hope that the AI has a decent level of skill on their hands, to rely on other Officer traits.

7 S.B.A.G.S.

Decreases Stress Per Mission

making an arrest in thank you, come again
  • Description: Decreases the overall stress gain of your team

Stress impacts AI teammates when civilians and suspects are killed, and with high stress, AI teammates are more likely to refuse to follow commands and they will eventually need therapy. Therefore, S.B.A.G.S. Comes in to help reduce the overall stress gained from dead civilians and suspects, meaning these AI allies can be in the field for longer.

6 Breacher

Makes Enemies and Civilians Surrender Faster When Using Breaching Tools

breacher officer
  • Description: Breaching tools employed by you and your team have a higher impact on civilian and suspect morale.

With Breacher, players can use breaching tools like C2 and the Breaching Shotgun to blast open doors to access rooms, while being given an advantage to morale. The morale system allows for civilians and suspects to surrender more easily, so if players intend on breaching doors, a Breacher isn't a bad Officer to have on the team since using these tools will provide a greater intimidation factor to enemies and NPCs.

5 Pacifier

Non-Lethal Bullets Make People Surrender More Easily

pacifier officer
  • Description: Increases the likelihood of suspects surrendering when hit by less lethal munitions.

The Pacifier Officer trait is easily one of the best to get, as this will allow players to fire off a non-lethal round into an enemy, and doing so will see the suspect more willing to comply by dropping their gun and getting down on their knees when commanded to by an Officer. Pacifier is great for players in a non-lethal playthrough who do not want to kill, as it will provide them with more effective use out of their pepper ball and bean bag weapons.

4 Armorer

Improves Armor for Players and AI Teammates

armorer officer
  • Description: Improves both your own, as well as your team's armor.

There's nothing worse than dying in the line of duty and in the middle of a mission. Not only does it waste time due to a lack of rewards, but it lowers morale for you and your team with the necessity to start again. Therefore, try out Armorer, an Officer trait that will allow armor to have more durability and to shrug off more damage, so that players can enter deadly situations without getting hurt so easily.

3 Intimidator

Makes Civilians and Suspects Surrender More Easily

Ready or Not - trailer screenshot
  • Description: Increases the impact individual officers have on suspect morale.

The AI of the Officers is not the best, so more often than not, the player is going to be clearing rooms on their own and making decisions to influence where the game goes. With the Intimidator Officer trait, players have a greater chance of surviving when alone, since players can make civilians and suspects surrender far quicker due to the boost to morale.
