At the end of every Ready or Not mission is an overall score counter that keeps track of everything the team has done, from the objectives they've completed to the pieces of evidence they've collected and the penalties they've incurred. A final tally determines a letter grade that ranks the squad's performance, giving everyone a clearer picture of how they did that round.

Earning an S rank in Ready or Not is one of the biggest badges of honor a player can get in the game. Achieving S rank means that not only were they able to complete their mission, but they also did so as cleanly and perfectly as possible. However, such an achievement isn't as easy as it sounds, especially since the game doesn't exactly tell players how to get it.
How to Get S Rank in Ready or Not
To achieve an S rank, players need to complete all objectives without anyone dying, including all suspects and police officers. All suspects, including the ones who shoot at players and those who fake their deaths or pretend to have surrendered, must be arrested.
Clearing a map full of hostile gunmen without killing any of them is impossible without using Less Than Lethal (LTL) weapons like beanbag shotguns, pepperball launchers, tasers, and tactical grenades. To make things even harder, beanbag shotguns can still kill targets, and pepperball launchers have finite range and are ineffective against masked enemies.
The AI in Ready or Not works on a morale system. If an NPC's morale reaches zero, they'll drop their weapons and surrender. Using LTL weapons, tactical grenades, and shouting all affect morale. Breaching a door by kicking it down, shooting it with a shotgun, blowing it up with a C2 charge, or using a battering ram also impact suspect morale in varying degrees. However, keep in mind that C2 charges can kill a person who's standing right in front of the door.
When chasing for that coveted S rank, it's best to arm the full squad with non-lethal gear and equip the pointman with a taser and shield. Incapacitating a suspect with firearms or explosives can potentially mess up an S-rank run, not to mention getting a non-lethal hit with a real gun is unreliable, at best.
Thankfully, getting an S rank on a mission isn't necessary if all you want is to unlock cosmetics. However, there is a Ready or Not achievement for meeting all S-rank requirements on every mission, and it can be quite a challenge considering how hectic things can get in Ready or Not's final few levels.
