To unlock the different forms of Red, players need to complete their first run and reach the hub area of the game, which has many locked areas that will slowly unlock as the player goes through more and more runs. One of the areas that players can access from the very start is the one that lets them change skin. There are a total of eight alternate forms in the game, each costing five Jade Ink. The last two forms require the player to beat the game at least once before they can unlock them.

All the forms are unique and add a lot of build variety to the game. Some are focused on very short range, fast-paced melee action, while others take a more measured approach, maintaining some distance between the player and the enemy. Others let the player engage their foes from far away. These forms are similar to the weapons players can unlock in Hades, though they change the player's appearance alongside their playstyle.

How To Get Jade Ink In Realm Of Ink

Jade Ink is the resource that players need in order to unlock more forms in the game, and it is quite rare. It can be found by defeating bosses, though it doesn't drop every time you defeat a boss. This makes it hard to obtain, but players should be able to get five Jade Ink after one or two 20-30 minute runs.

To use Jade Ink, go to the upper floor of the hub area. There, you'll see Violetta, Mask of Deception, lying on a luxurious sofa with a large portrait behind her in the middle of the hall. Interact with her and choose your desired character to unlock. Take your time to learn each character before unlocking a new one. This will let you learn whether you like the character or not, while also giving you some time to earn some more Jade Ink to unlock a new character as well.

There is no confirmation dialogue in Realm of Ink — one click is all it takes to use your Jade Ink to unlock a new character.
