The online counterpart to the massively popular Red Dead Redemption 2 has seen a major resurgence on the back of its newest content drop. Strange Tales of the West brings a markedly paranormal twist to Red Dead Online, with players squaring off with cryptids, zombies, and even robots. Now, Red Dead Online is offering some new incentives that should entice even more fans to try out the online game.
The launch of Strange Tales of the West was a big deal for Red Dead Online, serving as the biggest update in years. The last major update before Strange Tales of the West came in 2021 with the Blood Money expansion, adding more criminal activities and the ability to rob homesteads and banks. Rockstar even announced that Red Dead Online would not receive any more major updates in 2022, with the studio shifting focus to Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Strange Tales of the West is now bringing some special rewards for players.

Red Dead Online is continuing its release celebrations for Strange Tales of the West with bonus rewards throughout the next week. Players logging into Red Dead Online will be able to benefit from triple Gold, Red Dead Online money, and XP throughout the rest of the week. This week also features a variety of unique rewards, including a special red Manteca hat and bonus XP and RDO$ from playing the Hardcore Last Stand game mode. Fans can take advantage of Red Dead Online's bonus rewards until August 4.

Red Dead Online's plethora of new rewards comes as the Strange Tales of the West expansion introduced plenty of content for players to dive into. The update introduced four brand-new Telegram Missions to the game, with players partnering up with Theodore Levin to investigate a variety of unexplained phenomena throughout the frontier. Strange Tales of the West has also brought exclusive cosmetic rewards for playing Red Dead Online, like the Rebellion Poncho just for playing during July.
Strange Tales of the West has elicited plenty of speculation about the future of Red Dead Online, with more potentially on the way. Rockstar's promotional material for Strange Tales of the West specifically refers to the update as "Vol. 1," potentially hinting at a future Strange Tales of the West update. Red Dead Redemption fans will likely be waiting a while for news on the next game, however, with Rockstar mainly focusing on the previously mentioned GTA 6. Strange Tales of the West brings a welcome update to Red Dead Online after years of dormancy from the game.
