Redditor Financial-Mud-8959 shared the video of the odd bug, which sees Red Dead Redemption 2 Van Der Linde gang members Dutch and Sadie following Arthur while outside of a mission. Bringing followers along on the adventure isn't a feature in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is why this is so strange. One user asked Financial-Mud-8959 to check how the pair react when Arthur commits a crime, and apparently, "they shoot when I shoot." Another gamer had an optimistic take on this development, saying, "Congrats u got urself goons."
Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Finds Dutch and Sadie Follower Bug
One user in the thread seemed to know the exact cause of this particular Red Dead Redemption 2 glitch. When players get involved in a shootout near camp, the gang members come to help Arthur, with the game temporarily flagging them as part of the player's party. If the player dies during this period, the game doesn't remove this flag, leaving the helpful gang members stuck to Arthur as part of his party. As far as glitch explanations go, this one is pretty easy to understand, and should even be easy to replicate for any player who wants members of the gang as de-facto followers.
With the original Red Dead Redemption finally coming to PC after 14 years, it's an exciting time to be a fan of this series. The upcoming release will give some gamers the perfect excuse to replay Rockstar's classic Western, while others will be experiencing it for the first time. At the moment, any potential Red Dead Redemption 3 seems to be many years away yet, so in the meantime, this re-release will have to fill the void.
