The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is an unforgiving one, and players have to have cash if they hope to survive. Not only do players need to provide for themselves, but they have the entire Van Der Linde Gang to look after as well, so it's no surprise that finances can get tight. However, YouTube channel Mida Life Crisis has discovered an infinite gold bar glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that can net players an absurd $15,000 worth of gold bars, making them stupid rich in the process.

We'll explain how to do the glitch, but those that prefer a video guide can check out Mida Life Crisis's video right here:

To do the infinite gold bar glitch, Red Dead Redemption 2 players need to travel to the abandoned town called Limpany, located south of Caliban's Seat and slightly northwest of Flatneck Station. Upon arrival, they need to go into the Sheriff's Office, and check the lockbox on the ground behind the desk. While bending down to pick up the gold bar inside the box, players need to save the game, and then reload the save, which should put 30 gold bars in the lockbox if done correctly.

Here is where Limpany can be found on the world map:

Since it's not explicitly explained in-game, some players may not have even realized that Red Dead Redemption 2 has a manual save option, but it's necessary to use it to do the glitch. To manually save in Red Dead Redemption 2, go to the pause menu and select "Story." It seems a bit odd that the manual saving and loading options are filed under "Story," but it is what it is. Some players have also reported that auto-save needs to be turned off, but it's unclear if this is true for everyone attempting the glitch.

Once players have done the glitch, the next step is to sell the gold bars for cash. Unfortunately, gold bars can't be sold to just any general store on the map, but instead have to be taken to a fence. The gold bars can be sold for $500 apiece, and once that's been done, players are free to spend the cash how they please. They can also go back and re-do the glitch again if they want to get even more money.

Anyone that wants to do this glitch will need to move fast because glitches like this are usually patched out of games fairly quickly. We must also warn anyone that decides to do the glitch that it's possible it could have some unforeseen consequences, like a corrupted save file or the like, so it may be best to make a back-up save just in case.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
