A Red Dead Redemption 2 player has created a hilarious mod that allows Arthur to use the young Jack Marston as a throwable weapon, complete with ragdoll mechanics. The final result is a surprisingly effective new weapon type that players can use to turn the somber world of Red Dead Redemption 2 on its head.
While RDR2 is nowhere close to competing with games like Skyrim in terms of total number of mods, it has an active community that dedicates itself to maintaining the scene to ensure there is always something new to do in the game. Red Dead Redemption 2 mods range from simple graphical changes to gameplay overhauls that completely alter the way it is played. Some modders, on the other hand, take a lighter approach, creating funny mods just for kicks, as is the case with this one.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Tomahawk Jack Mod
In a recent post on Reddit, YouTuber Blurbs shared a hilarious clip of Arthur wielding young Jack Marston as a throwable weapon to take down everything from outlaw gangs to giant bears in RDR2. Blurbs replaced the Tomahawk’s model with Jack, allowing Arthur to “equip” him in the throwable slot and fling him at incoming enemies. He even went a step further by replacing the Tomahawk’s default behavior with ragdoll mechanics, which made it so that Jack would fall down realistically when he hit something instead of sticking to a surface like a Tomahawk.
Blurbs is no stranger to modding games, as much of his content revolves around fulfilling wacky mod requests from commenters on his Twitch and YouTube channels, some more noteworthy than others. Over the years, he has made some impressive mods, including one that allows his chat to voice NPCs in Skyrim using Twitch TTS (Text-To-Speech). Perhaps one of Blurbs’ most memorable mods, however, is one that turned every single NPC in Red Dead Redemption 2 extremely drunk, changing serious cutscenes into outright gag reels.
The Reddit clip is part of a longer video, which itself is an edited version of Blurbs’ Twitch stream, where he takes mod ideas from live viewers and YouTube commenters and turns them into reality. In addition to the throwable Jack mod, the video also showed off other mods like kickflipping horses, exploding dead bodies, NPCs kidnapping Arthur, and more. Blurbs completed an entire playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 with all of them enabled at the same time.
With Rockstar focused on Grand Theft Auto 6 and Red Dead Redemption 3 still years away, it’s great to see RDR2 thriving in the hands of modders who have kept interest in the title alive over the years. Whether it be immersion mods that bring the Wild West to life or wacky "Tomajacks," as long as the community wills it, the game will live on.
