A streamer has created a bizarre mod that forces the player to watch the memories of NPCs that they just killed in Red Dead Redemption 2. The streamer has demonstrated how the Red Dead Redemption 2 mod was made and works, with some amusing results due to the influence of their viewers.

Arthur and Micah shooting guns

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an extremely immersive game with a ton of depth, which has led to players making discoveries about the Rockstar Games title years after it released. That said, there are also plenty of fans who have gone to work expanding the game even further through the creation of mods. While some are intended to be fairly serious and just buld upon the inherent gameplay of the game, other Red Dead Redemption 2 mods are extremely silly or weird.

Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most immersive open-world games ever, but these mods take that immersion even further.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Makes the Player Watch Dying NPCs' Memories

Now, a streamer named Blurbs has demonstrated a mod they created courtesy of the idea being shared in a comment from one of their subscribers. The Red Dead Redemption 2 mod is designed to give a sort of cinematic flashback to an NPC's life after they've received a killing blow from Arthur. Blurbs showed how he made the mod on his YouTube channel, which involved setting up the cinematic shots in advance. Among them are moments where NPCs are looking at their children, writing letters about coming home, getting married, or attending others' funerals.

While it sounds fairly dramatic, Blurbs says he "may have made a mistake," as while he was responsible for setting up the cinematic shots, he relied on his Twitch Chat to create the spoken scripts that play back during the scenes. This led to many jokey lines sneaking into the dialogue, including numerous references to some classic memes involving Spider-Man, Rick and Morty, and One Piece. While playing with the mod enabled, Blurbs himself cracked up a number of times due to the absurdity of goofy spoken dialogue playing out over the otherwise dramatic moments.

Arthur aiming and firing a rifle

While this mod is certainly funny on its own, this isn't the first time that Blurbs has made a bizarre mod. Another example would be Blurbs' Red Dead Redemption 2 mod that turns Jack Marston into a throwing weapon, allowing players to fling him across the screen to take out enemies. It will be interesting to see what Blurbs and his viewers dream up next for Red Dead Redemption 2 or any other games.
