A Red Dead Redemption 2 fan has shared a way to change some of the game's cutscenes that can make them extremely amusing to watch. While Red Dead Redemption 2 has plenty of funny moments, this particular case is something the developers likely didn't expect players to exploit.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has become a legendary game, not only because of the general gameplay and story the game tells, but due to its incredible depth. Players have continued making Red Dead Redemption 2 discoveries all these years after its original 2018 launch.

On Reddit, user Severe-blake6720 shared a brief gameplay video demonstrating a way to change how certain cutscenes play out. Specifically, the footage is of the "Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall?" Mission, which sees Arthur's group riding through a snowy landscape on their way to rob a train. When this cutscene plays out normally, a cinematic scene is shown where players can watch the Van der Linde gang riding together. However, in this shared version, the player directs Arthur to hop off his horse just before the cutscene triggers, leading to Arthur running alongside the horses on-foot.

Fans of the game have been cracking up at the sight of Arthur hoofing it through deep snow as everyone else rides on horses. The choice clearly throws the game off a bit, too, as some of the NPCs can be seen slowing down and waiting for Arthur to catch up, while others run right into him before sliding past and continuing on their way. While players have to carefully time having Arthur hop off his horse, this technique can work with several cutscenes that include Arthur on horseback.

The way Red Dead Redemption 2's cutscenes work has allowed for some pretty amusing interactions in other gameplay segments, as well. For example, one player was playing as John Marston, who was riding his horse when he crashed into the front window of a saloon where Sadie was waiting to talk. In many other games, triggering a cutscene by being in the vicinity would play a pre-rendered cutscene that would show something reasonable, like Marston walking in through the front door. However, with how cutscenes work in RDR2, the player was essentially launched directly into the conversation, as Sadie acknowledged Marston while he was still lying on the ground and asked him to sit down, which he automatically did after getting up. If GTA 6 uses a similar cutscene system, it will be interesting to see how players find ways to break them or trigger them in funny ways.
