Simon Pearson is perhaps one of the most fascinating supporting characters found in Red Dead Redemption 2. While Pearson doesn’t play a big role in the game’s overall narrative, he still has an important role in the camp as he is the Van Der Linde gang’s primary cook. Besides crafting numerous satchels and rustic camp decorations for Arthur Morgan, Pearson can also be found preparing the daily stew for the gang. His food can be useful for players, as it can provide gameplay bonuses to Arthur.
A Reddit user known as KillSE11 decided to share a tasty-looking picture of their homemade stew which was based on Pearson’s RDR2 camp stew. The Redditor’s dish turned out looking almost exactly like its in-game counterpart. KillSE11 also decided to share with the internet community the recipe they used in order to prepare the delicious beef stew. All one needs to recreate the RDR2-themed plate is beef fat along with some beef stock, brisket, chopped tomatoes, thyme, and a few gloves of garlic.
The RDR2 community was highly impressed by the stew and showered KillSE11 with compliments for their dish, claiming it appeared more appetizing than the in-game variant. It is interesting to note that Pearson himself is shown as being a terrible cook, as many gang members end up making fun of his cooking skills. Sometimes RDR2 players can even notice Pearson tasting his own meal, only to instantly choke and spit it out afterwards. Thankfully, KillSE11’s stew is not completely accurate to Pearson’s version.
