The open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of strange characters that Arthur Morgan can come across on his adventures, including an Englishman named Nigel, who is desperately searching for his missing friend Gavin. Red Dead Redemption 2 players have been trying to locate Gavin for Nigel, but haven't had much luck. For those curious about Gavin and his location in Red Dead Redemption 2, read on, but others should be warned of spoilers.

While some online have claimed that they've found Gavin in Red Dead Redemption 2's massive open world, evidence points to Gavin not actually being in the game. No one has been able to provide actual proof of his existence, and there is no character named Gavin listed in the end credits.

Furthermore, if players get to the Epilogue portion of the game, Nigel can still be found walking around the open world, looking for Gavin. There doesn't appear to be any real conclusion to Nigel's story or his search for Gavin in all of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Really the only way to get Nigel to stop searching for Gavin is to kill him. After killing him, players can loot his body to find a letter that offers a bit more background on who exactly Nigel is. Apparently, Nigel is lying to his friends and family back home, claiming that he and Gavin have struck it rich in the Wild West.

There is nothing in the letter that gives any clues to locate Gavin in the game. And as previously stated, no one has produced any evidence that he actually exists. However, it's still technically possible that Gavin is in Red Dead Redemption 2 somewhere. The Grand Theft Auto 5 Mt. Chiliad conspiracy theories saw fans dedicate years of their lives to finding that game's secrets, and so it's reasonable to assume Rockstar hid plenty of secret content in Red Dead Redemption 2 as well.

It will be interesting to see if Red Dead Redemption 2 fans find more information about Gavin in their open world adventures, or if a future update adds the elusive character to the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
