It seems like more and more clues are surfacing online regarding the alleged remaster of Red Dead Redemption. Even though no official announcement has yet been made by Rockstar, the latest evidence has undoubtedly piqued the interest of fans worldwide, many of them believing that a remastered edition of the award-winning game is in the works.Originally released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Red Dead Redemption follows the story of the charismatic gunslinger and former outlaw, John Marston, as he is forced to work with the government and seek redemption for his past actions. Since the story of RDR takes place just a few years after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2 it acts as a direct sequel to RDR2’s narrative timeline. Unfortunately, Rockstar never released a PC port or even a remastered version for the newer consoles, leaving many gamers unable to properly witness the epic end of the Van der Linde gang saga.RELATED: Red Dead Redemption 2 Bug Gets a Bale of Hay Stuck on Arthur's Arm Despite that, many fans of the popular wild-west-themed video game are excited by the reveal of a new clue that potentially points toward a Red Dead Redemption remaster, as RDR’s Achievement Art has recently received a new visual upgrade via Rockstar’s Social Club. While at first glance this doesn’t seem like a big deal, it’s worth mentioning that a similar thing has happened in the past, when the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition was first leaked by dataminers who discovered new achievement art for the games in question.

Another rumor that supports RDR’s remaster theory involves the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, which recently published a new rating for Red Dead Redemption, even though ratings for the original versions of the game already existed in Korea. This interesting move occurred at the request of Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company.

Rockstar is currently busy working on its highly anticipated project, Grand Theft Auto 6. That being said, it seems that the developer may have another surprise up its sleeves, as all the previously mentioned leaks point toward a Red Dead Redemption remaster. Seeing how RDR2 has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over 50 million copies worldwide, it is safe to say that the Red Dead franchise has solid appeal in the eyes of many gamers. Considering this success, an RDR remaster would undoubtedly further solidify the franchise's position in the gaming industry.

Red Dead Redemption is currently available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
