The cosplayer explained the hat was handmade, the union suit was hemmed to save them from sweating, and the final dirt and grime touches were acrylics. Furthermore, the fan noted they colored their beard and used red grease paint to achieve a blushed face, using additional makeup to allow their eyes to appear more sunken.

Red Dead Redemption 2 players were initially confused over what Lumbago was. Still, the medical term has become synonymous with the character because of how much he brings up his chronic condition in conversations.
