REDACTED is a roguelike that focuses on replayability and build variety. It has a variety of weapons for the player to try out during their runs, with each weapon lending itself to a different playstyle. This lets players create unique builds that complement their playstyle, making the gameplay a lot more enjoyable in the long run.

The game rewards the player for using different weapons on their runs by giving the player Samples, a rare currency used to purchase skill slots, for beating bosses. Defeating a boss for the first time with a particular weapon gives you samples, but doing so with the same weapon another time does not.

How to Unlock Weapons in REDACTED

There are a bunch of different weapons in REDACTED that the player will slowly unlock as they progress through the game. At the start, you'll have seven total buyable weapons, but that number will increase once you've bought a certain amount.

Unlike uniforms, players cannot upgrade weapons until they've escaped with that weapon at least once.

To buy weapons, players need keycodes, which can be obtained during runs. A keycode chamber will typically reward five at a time, making collecting them a bit of a hassle. However, the earlier weapons don't need too many keycodes to unlock. You can use these keycodes at the Riot Response Terminal, which is next to the northern wall of the raised platform in the hub area of the game.
