[REDACTED] has a ton of different enemies you need to keep track of during your runs, and one of those enemies is your corpse. You don't have to fight it, of course, but if you choose to, you can get some really powerful rewards as a result.

Finding and defeating your corpse is an entirely different ballgame, though. It's essentially a mini-boss that you can try and take on, and it gets more difficult with the better equipment you had in your previous run. Without proper preparation, it's going to be a difficult fight.

How to Find Your Corpse in Redacted

The first step to beating your corpse in [REDACTED] is finding it. If you can remember which rooms you entered on your last run, then you'll have a pretty good idea of where your corpse will show up too. Each time you die, the game will leave your previous character's body on the floor of the room, and you'll be able to find it with your next character. You'll have to clear the room of other zombies before you can walk up to it and start the fight. Just follow the yellow arrow that appears on-screen to find exactly where it is in the room.

Keep in mind that before you can unlock your last corpse, you also need to clear at least 5 combat rooms. Thankfully, you don't have to try and fight your corpse if you don't want to. Especially if you're not having a particularly good run, it's probably a good idea to wait until you're a bit stronger before you take it on.

Technically, you have the upper hand when taking on your corpse, because it will have the same upgrades as you chose in your last run. As such, you can actually prepare to take on your corpse in your new run by choosing upgrades you know would work well against it. Here are some tips if you're going to try and beat it:

  • Pick experiments/upgrades that will give you an edge.
  • Liberally use your GRP.
  • Change your melee and ranged weapon.
  • Pick a different suit.
  • Upgrade your items.

You'll get a range of experiments to choose from when you start your run, and if you know you want to fight your corpse, try and pick ones that will counter those you know it has equipped. This goes for weapons too - if you know your corpse has a Cattle Prod equipped, for example, you know that its attacks are likely to be slower. So, picking a new weapon with faster attacks (like the Barman Shankers) will give you an edge in combat.

It's also worth upgrading your equipment before you start your run, because your corpse won't have those same upgrades when you fight it. This applies to your suits, too, and some suits can help increase your chances to get certain experiments - so they're pretty crucial in deciding what your chances are against your corpse.

The reason you want to take on the fight against your corpse in [REDACTED] is because of the rewards you get. Once you beat it, you'll have access to the experiments you chose in that run, and they'll be the upgraded versions of those experiments. More than that, if you beat your corpse three times, you'll get some special items that make the rest of your run easier to beat.
