Redfall will have a Deluxe Edition, according to a recent leak, and it seems Microsoft is also keeping its promise when it comes to increasing its game prices. The leak concerning Redfall is specifically Europe-centric, but these developments no doubt will translate to the US and the worldwide market as well.

The developer of Redfall is Arkane Studios, known for popular titles such as Prey and Dishonored. Redfall will be Arkane's first big Xbox console exclusive release since the Microsoft acquisition, so the game is getting plenty of attention. The game will be an open-world FPS with the option for fans to join their friends in a multiplayer playthrough or brave the story alone. Redfall is set in the town of Redfall, Massachusetts where the player will have to fight back an army of vampires who have blocked out the sun and have taken the town and its residents hostage.

The leak is from Twitter user BillbilKun, who has been known to release reliable leaks. According to the post, Redfall will cost €79.99 and the Deluxe Edition will cost an extra €29.99 - both of these prices are said to be for the Xbox Series X version specifically. The new information in all of this is the existence of a Deluxe Edition, which likely will cost around $90. This development comes after the news from last year that Microsoft will be raising its prices by $10. Redfall will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass on its release day.

There has been no further elaboration about what exactly the Deluxe Edition will contain. Based on the content of other co-op FPS games it is possible a Deluxe Edition could contain additional weapons and skins. But as an exact release is not known yet beyond that Redfall is promised to come out in the first half of 2023 there's still time for Microsoft to reveal those details, giving the opportunity for fans to decide whether the content will be worth the extra cost.

Arkane Studios has been solid in delivering quality games, so the trust is certainly understandable. However, Redfall is somewhat deviating from the kind of format gamers expect from Arkane Studios by delivering an open-world FPS with the option for a multiplayer playthrough. On its website, Arkane Studios is still promising a game that is story-driven while maintaining its signature gameplay, but time will tell if it's successful.
