As part of a promotional event for Arkane's upcoming game Redfall, Bethesda revealed a custom Redfall-themed Xbox Series X console and controller that players have a chance to win by taking part in an interactive adventure game on Bethesda's website. Redfall is an imminent vampire-slaying first-person shooter and Arkane's first Xbox-exclusive title after being acquired by Microsoft in 2021.
From the studio behind the Dishonored series, Prey, and most recently the critically acclaimed Deathloop, Arkane's newest title has a lot to live up to. Redfall is a single-player game that features optional co-op and tasks players with taking back the nautical Massachussets island town of the same name from a legion of ferocious vampires and their cult followers. While the open-world looter shooter is new territory for Arkane, Redfall is looking to retain and hopefully build upon the renown studio's signature art style and dense vertical level design. As the game's release date draws nearer, Bethesda and Arkane have a fun sweepstakes event going on that could land players a custom Redfall Xbox Series X or controller.
On Twitter, Redfall revealed the custom Xbox and controller as well as the beginning of a sweepstakes event that players can partake in for a chance to win either one. In order to enter, fans must play through the "Take Back Redfall" narrative adventure on Bethesda's website and share their results on either Twitter or Facebook. The text-based interactive adventure will have players talking to the four heroes and making decisions based on vampire and cultist encounters within the town of Redfall as they try to survive to the end.
The design of the custom Redfall Xbox Series X is basically a wrap that looks similar to the game's cover art. It features a dark, misty blue backdrop for a big, menacing vampire on the front of the console while two of the four heroes, Layla with her purple umbrella and Jacob with his raven, square up on the left side of the box. While it's not shown, it would be safe to assume the other two heroes, Remi and Devinder, occupy the right side of the console as well. As for the controller, it features a similar dark blue mist look with the Redfall logo on the left handle and the red vampire teeth on the right.
The sweepstakes will continue up until Redfall's release next month and there will be only two winners, each splitting the controller and console at random. This interactive adventure is a smart and fun way for Bethesda to get fans even more hyped for Redfall as it gives players a small taste of the game's world and atmosphere which are all-important in Arkane's titles, while they await the beginning of their journey into the vampire-consumed island next month.
Redfall is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2.
