In Reignbreaker, you take on the role of Clef, a fearless rebel fighting against the evil Queen of Key's grand Bastion. It's a high-octane action roguelike with fast-paced combat set in a gritty medieval punk universe. While traversing the depths of the Bastion, you'll pick up plenty of weapon and ability upgrades that refresh each time you return to your spawn.
However, there are some upgrades that, once unlocked, stay with you and make you stronger for your future runs. These are known as Resolve Upgrades. From increasing your health to adding extra dashes, these upgrades are necessary to help you progress through the story and bring down the evil Queen. How to Unlock More Resolve Upgrades in Reignbreaker
In Reignbreaker, you can interact with the Resolve Engine in your camp to unlock permanent upgrades for your character. The upgrades are split into three categories:

- Survival: Boosts health, adds extra dashes and adds general defensive options.
- Combat: Increases Punch & Javelin damage, adds more Javelins, and boosts overall offensive capabilities.
- Utility: Adds utilities such as increasing the amount of resources gained or improving the quality of upgrades obtained within a run.
However, when you interact with the Resolve Engine for the first time, you'll notice that most of these upgrades are locked. Only the first tier of upgrades for each branch will be available. To unlock higher tiers, you'll need to spend a certain amount of Resolve in each category.
The amount of Resolves you'll have to spend in each category varies. When you hover over a locked Resolve Upgrade, you'll see how much you need to spend under the description of each Upgrade. After spending enough Resolve in a certain tier, whether by upgrading or unlocking upgrades, the following tier will get unlocked.
You can upgrade all your unlocked Resolve Upgrades up to five times to boost their effects.
How to Unlock More Upgrade Slots in Reignbreaker
As you keep going on runs and collecting Resolves, you'll naturally unlock many useful Resolve Upgrades in Reigbreaker. However, to use them, you'll have to equip them first at the Resolve Engine. At the start, you'll have only three Resolve Upgrade Slots available, which means you can only have three Resolve Upgrade Slots active at a time.
To unlock more Resolve Upgrade Slots, you'll have to complete Bastion Raids successfully. Each time you defeat the boss in the Bastion and return to camp after a successful raid, you'll receive a Resolve Upgrade Slot as a reward.
You can have a maximum of nine Resolve Upgrade Slots in Reignbreaker.
The first time this happens is when you defeat the Overseer boss. However, as you progress through the game, you'll eventually have to defeat multiple bosses each run to complete a raid successfully. On top of that, each time you complete a raid, the security in the Bastion increases, boosting enemy density, types, and the amount of damage they deal.
Investing in some useful Resolve Upgrades will ensure you come out alive every time you decide to brave the Bastion in Reignbreaker.
