What's the Javelin in Reignbreaker?

In Reignbreaker, your Javelin serves as a secondary weapon, capable of dealing massive damage when built around properly. Each Javelin is equipped with different Bayonets, which determine its attack style. You start with the Peashooter Bayonet and its standard variant, Stone's Throw, but you can eventually unlock four more Javelin types, each with multiple variants.

How to Unlock Javelin Upgrades in Reignbreaker

Unlike Resolve Upgrades, you don't need to spend resources to get your hands on a new Javelin Upgrade. Instead, you'll have to clear each Lockdown within a specific time limit. Early in the game, this timer is usually 10 minutes. If you manage to raise the bridge and reach the Safe Room within that timeframe, a new Javelin Upgrade will likely be waiting for you. Once inside the Safe Room, interact with the Javelin-marked door to claim your upgrade.

As you progress, the timer can get as low as two minutes. Unfortunately, there's no way to know in advance how fast you need to be to clear a Lockdown for a Javelin upgrade. You'll only find out once you reach the Safe Zone after clearing a Lockdown.

Defeating bosses also rewards you with a new Bayonet type. Each Javelin comes with various Aspect and Motor Mods, which unlock as you continue raiding and taking down bosses.

Some Javelin Upgrades can also drop from Special Statues hidden on the map. So thoroughly explore the map once you've picked up all the Javelin Upgrades from completing raids.

Here's a quick rundown of the Javelin upgrades in Reignbreaker:

Bayonet Type

Effects

Peashooter

Fires multiple small projectiles in rapid succession that deal low damage.

Shotgun

Close-range spread shot that deals heavy damage and can knock back enemies.

Blast

Deals high-damage explosive blasts. The blasts can also damage the player if caught in its radius.

Railgun

An early-game Resolve Upgrade lets you equip two Javelins at the same time.

Whether you prefer rapid-fire projectiles, explosive blasts, or close-range devastation, there's a Javelin suited to your playstyle. Remember to test out new Javelins in the training area once you unlock them to see how they work.
