Rematch puts players in the shoes of a single player on a soccer team, and tasks them with working with their teammates to emerge victorious every game. Teamwork is the name of the game, but that doesn't mean that moments of individual excellence can't help give your team the upper hand. The Rainbow Flick is one of the best skills in Rematch, but it can be difficult to pull off. Players will need to master the button combination as well as the timing if they want to beat the defender and get a chance on goal.

This guide will explain everything about how to Rainbow Flick in Rematch, so players can master this skill and look good while doing so.

All Rematch Mechanics, Explained

Rematch brings a new experience for soccer fans to dive into. Here are all the mechanics explained to get the most out of them while playing.

How to Do a Rainbow Flick in Rematch

Simple to Perform, Difficult to Master

Rematch - Rainbow Flick

To Rainbow Flick, players must be moving forward with the ball and press and hold the RB/R1 button on their controller while pressing A/X.

This will cause their player to flick the ball into the air behind them, before lifting it over the head of the defender. Players can then run around the defender and regain control of the ball before playing a pass or taking a shot on goal.

The most important part of successfully pulling off a Rainbow Flick in Rematch is the timing. Trying do the skill move as the defender is right in front of you or tackling you won't work, as the ball will likely bounce off them, or players will fall over from the tackle and not be able to get back up in time to recover the ball.

Instead, the best time to Rainbow Flick is about one second before the defender makes contact. Working out this timing becomes easier the more you play the game, but generally avoid trying it when they're too far away (as the flick will just give the ball to the defender), and before they're too close.

The Best Time to Use a Rainbow Flick in Rematch

Use it Sparingly

As noted above, the best time to Rainbow Flick is when a defender is running in to tackle the player with the ball. This ensures that the defender won't intercept the ball and start a counterattack. If the defender is waiting for the player with the ball to get closer and isn't lunging in, the better option here is to play a pass instead.

Similarly, if a defender is clearly coming in for a slide tackle, doing a Rainbow Flick before they make contact is the best way to keep the ball out of their reach. Finally, players should avoid doing Rainbow Flicks needlessly and in their own half or around their own goal. This is asking for trouble and can easily result in the opposing team scoring. If a pass is on, play it to a teammate. Move into space and ask for the ball back, only using a Rainbow Flick when a defender is charging in to tackle you.
