To learn and hone their skills, Rematch has a number of training workshops for players to try out. There's dribbling practice, a shooting range, and even a workshop for avoiding tackles. Depending on how well players do, they can earn bronze, silver, and gold medals for each workshop, and there's an achievement/trophy for getting 5 gold medals.

How to Be a Better Defender in Rematch

Defending in Rematch is way more than just tackling. Learn all the ways to help at the back in this complete guide for defenders.

Thankfully, for achievement hunters, there are more than 5 workshops, meaning they don't need gold in all, which is good, as the Toro workshop for defending is incredibly difficult. The fact that at the game's release, players cannot immediately restart workshops makes collecting these gold medals take longer.

How To Get A Gold Medal In Toro For Rematch

What Is Toro?

In Toro, players stand in the middle of a triangle of three opponents. These three pass a ball between themselves, and the player must intercept or tackle the ball as many times as possible within 30 seconds.

Requirements For Each Medal

  • Bronze: 4
  • Silver: 7
  • Gold: 10

If players utilize Toro correctly, using the defensive dash and winning interceptions in the middle without resorting to the following cheese technique, 4 interceptions for a bronze medal is still impressive.

Technique For Getting Interceptions

Rematch - Toro Stand Behind

The first thing to understand about Toro, is that the passes are completely random. The opponent with the ball will pass to either of their teammates, and the player's position does not factor into this choice. This means that getting a gold medal in Toro is also a bit random, and this will likely take multiple tries even with the correct method.

As players will barely ever be able to intercept the ball from the middle, they should instead focus on one opponent and hope the RNG chooses them a lot. Stand behind one opponent, and when they receive the ball or are about to, perform a standing tackle.

  • PlayStation: Circle
  • PC: E

The faster players can intercept the ball, the faster it respawns, so also try to tackle forward.

Sometimes, after tackling them, the ball will spawn at their feet for another easy tackle. To increase their chances, players can also hold the defensive stance Left Trigger/ Left Ctrl to push their chosen opponent closer, making the triangle smaller.

The best RNG is when the ball keeps spawning at the feet of the person the player is marking. This allows for quick tackles, often multiple in a row if lucky.

Slide tackles should not be used, as being down on the floor when the ball spawns is not a good idea. Even with the right technique, players just have to wait to get lucky, and the tenth interception will likely come right down to the last few seconds.
