Traits give a variety of stat bonuses to players in Remnant 2, and Leech is one of the many options that's geared towards increasing survivability. It's not a mandatory Trait, but it'll definitely help players who want to stay in fights for longer.
Not only is the process of getting Leech reliant on luck, but it's also a bit complicated. In fact, players won't be able to get it unless they play Remnant 2 with friends or at least one other player. If neither of these things are an issue for you, then here's how you can get this Trait.
Remnant 2: What To Do With The Bookbound Medallion
The Bookbound Medallion is tied to a variety of items in Remnant 2, and players might miss out on them if they aren't familiar with this quest item.
How To Get Leech In Remnant
Leech can only be obtained from the Dormant N'Erudian Facility on N'Erud. Here, you need to get purged by toxic gas, which can only be released by another player who manages to reach the control room at the end of the dungeon. If all you want to do is get this Trait with a friend, then it's best to roll Adventure mode worlds in hopes of getting the right map to spawn. Here's a summary of the steps you need to take:
- Find the Dormant N'Erudian Facility on N'Erud with a friend.
- Reach the room with the giant purple tank.
- Stay in the room with the tank.
- Have your friend reach the secret control room.
- Let your friend activate the purge from the control room.
- Die to the toxic gas.
The Dormant N'Erudian Facility dungeon gives players six minutes to run through the entire map to reach a control room inside a large, open area at the end. Look for the large tank full of purple gas. You can reach the control room by dropping onto a ledge in said open area — look for an opening in the railings, and check if there's a ledge that you can safely land on. Follow the path and go up the elevator until you reach the control room.
The player who wants to unlock Leech must stay in the open area and wait for the other player to release the gas. Once the room is filled with the toxic, purple haze, the player inside it will die and receive the Trait. The one who releases the gas will instead get the Siphoner Trait.
What Does Leech Do?
Leech boosts the player's lifesteal efficacy by up to 50% at max rank. It only affects existing lifesteal effects — if you want a Trait that actually makes you heal every time you deal damage, then you'll want to get Siphoner instead by being the one who triggers the purge in the Dormant N'Erudian Facility. The control room in this dungeon also holds one of the keys needed to get the Pulse Rifle in Remnant 2.
The efficacy bonus provided by Leech is massive, and it works extremely well when combined with Siphoner and the following Amulets:
- Full Moon Circlet: Ranged damage heals you for 3% of the base damage dealt. Gain 25% increased damage when your health is full.
- Difference Engine: Gain 20% bonus damage and lifesteal equal to 4.5% base damage dealt to targets whenever you have a Shield.
- Nightmare Spiral: Gain lifesteal equal to 10% of base Ranged damage dealt. Reduces Healing Effectiveness by 95%
