There's a ton of items hidden in secret rooms or quests (or both) in Remnant 2, and if players want to get as many trinkets as possible during a single campaign run, they'll need to know what does which. The Bookbound Medallion is one such item that can potentially lead to secret treasures, but the game doesn't tell players what to do with this item.
The Forlorn Coast is the first area players explore right after starting Remnant 2: The Awakened King, and if you've found the Misplaced Memoir hidden in this area, you can interact with it to receive the Bookbound Medallion, which can be exchanged for some nifty accessories.

Here's how to beat Alepsis-Taura, the final boss in Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC.
How To Use The Bookbound Medallion In Remnant 2: Awakened King
The Bookbound Medallion is essentially a tradable item that you can give to Leywise, the NPC in the sewers near the entrance portal to the Forlorn Coast. Give it to him, and you'll get an accessory. The item you get depends on when you surrender the item to him, though.
|
Item Name |
Effect |
How To Get |
|---|---|---|
|
Burden of the Sciolist (Amulet) |
Reduces Ammo Reserves by 20%, but increases Mod and Skill Damage by 15%. |
Give the Bookbound Medallion to Leywise as soon as he asks for it. |
|
Ring of Infinite Damage (Ring) |
Increases Fire Rate by 8%. |
Don't give the Bookbound Medallion to Leywise when he asks for it. Give it to him later. |
As mentioned, you first need to find the Misplaced Memoir. It's somewhere in the Forlorn Coast, so make sure to pay attention while exploring or looking for the Ritualist's class item. Once you have the book, interact with it to get the Bookbound Medallion.
It's worth noting that the Burden of the Sciolist is the superior item here. The fire rate bonus from the Ring of Infinite Damage is barely noticeable, and it's mostly a joke item that Leywise gives to players out of spite. It's good if you want to maximize your rate of fire, but without other effects that boost your fire rate, this ring is not worth using.
Other Choices, Other Items
If you give the Misplaced Memoir to Leywise instead of interacting with it, you'll get the Index of the Scribe, an Amulet that increases Mod and Skill Weakspot Damage by 35%. It's an excellent choice for a Remnant 2 Archon build or any other setup that makes heavy use of mods and precision damage.
Alternatively, instead of giving the Bookbound Medallion to Leywise, you can go to the Chamber of the Faithless in Losomn and use it to enter the Library, which contains the Paper Heart Relic. This heals players for 100% of their max health almost instantly. However, it also gives them stacks of Paper Health. Each stack of this effect will turn your 10% of your HP into Grey Health after 15 seconds, though one stack can be removed by defeating an enemy or dealing enough damage to targets.
