Diehard Resident Evil 4 fans know that Leon’s Attache Case was one of the essential items; it determined how many weapons, healing potions, and explosives he could carry. The logic was simple: The bigger the case, the better.
But in the remake of Resident Evil 4, the Attache Case plays an even bigger role. It can now be customized with charms and get fancier with upgraded models. Here’s everything players need to know about the new Cases.
List of All Attache Cases
In total, there are five Attache Cases in the remake of Resident Evil 4: Silver, Leather, Black, Classic, and Golden. Of these, only two (the Black and Leather) are purchasable from the Merchant. The Silver one comes as the default storage, and the remaining two (Classic and Golden) are pre-order- and Deluxe-exclusive items.
Silver Case
The Silver Attache Case is Leon’s default storage, which comes with a basic perk: It increases the handgun ammo drop rate. The player can also buy four enlargement upgrades for 160,000 Pesetas to get up to 117 slots for this case.
Leather Case
Starting in Chapter 8, the player can purchase the Leather Case for 12 Spinels. The Case comes with a healing perk that increases the drop rate of red herbs.
Black Case
The Black Attache Case unlocks in Chapter 4 at the Merchant site, and the player can purchase it for 8 Spinels. What makes this storage unique is its special perk that increases the drop rate of Large Resources, the ones used in crafting rifles’ and SMGs’ ammo.
Classic Case
The Classic Attache Case increases the drop rate of gunpowder. But there is no way to buy this Case because it’s a pre-order-exclusive item. Only players who pre-ordered the Standard or Deluxe Edition of the game can access the Classic Case.
Golden Case
The Golden Case maxes out enemies’ money drop rate. But like the Classic Case, the Golden Case is a paid item; it is granted to players who own the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions.
The Best Attache Case in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Pre-order and Deluxe Edition Cases aside, the best Attache Case in the Resident Evil 4 remake is the Black one. It is cheaper than all other options, and it boosts the Resource (L) drops, which makes it easier to craft rifle and SMG ammo as well as grenades, flashbangs, and explosives.
But technically, the Golden Case has the best special perk among all other Attache Cases. It helps the player make more money and, eventually, upgrade weapons faster.
How to Change the Attache Case
All Attache Cases are accessible via typewriters. To change the current Case, interact with a typewriter, go to the Customize Case menu, and select the desired storage type.
Note that the current Attache Case Capacity carries over to the new Case. For example, if the player has a 9x13 Case, they will still have 117 empty slots after changing their Attache Case.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
