Resident Evil 4 remake follows Leon S. Kennedy on his mission to find and rescue the president's daughter, Ashley Graham, from an infected cult. Shortly after he arrives at his destination, his escorts get captured by the townsfolk, leaving him to complete his mission alone.
Leon eventually finds Ashley while exploring The Village and the two team up to find a way to escape. Sadly, they both end up traveling deeper into the sinister land, where they are repeatedly attacked by various scary enemies. To progress through the main story of Resident Evil 4 remake, Leon and Ashley need to complete a variety of puzzles to pave the way forward, but some, like the Dining Room Table puzzle, are harder to solve than others.
How to Find the Dining Hall in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Upon arriving at the Grand Hall in The Castle during Chapter 9, Leon will need to locate and acquire three separate statue heads and attach them to the headless chimera statue at the back of the area in order to progress the story.
To find the lion head, Leon needs to travel to the Armory and defeat the suits of armor that come to life; the goat head can be found in the room across from the entrance of the Armory, where Leon will need to defeat a large hoard of enemies; and the snake head is located in the Dining Hall. The door leading to the Dining Hall is located to the left of the chimera statue.
The player should save the game at the Typewriter near the Merchant before attempting to get the lion and goat heads, as the battles associated with them are quite difficult. If players are still struggling to acquire these particular heads, there is no shame in changing Resident Evil 4 remake's difficulty settings.
How to Solve the Dining Hall Puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Once inside the Dining Hall, the player will see the snake head they need inside a small cage. Before they can get it, however, they will first need to solve the puzzle associated with it.
Just left of the cage are two separate dining tables on which several dinner plates are resting. Behind the tables, on the back wall, are two portraits depicting a man and woman eating different meals. These portraits provide the Dining Hall puzzle solution, but it can still be pretty challenging to figure out what the clue is.
The trick to solving the Dining Room puzzle is for Leon to sit in the chair next to the plate depicted in the portrait of the man and for Ashley to sit in the chair opposite the plate depicted in the portrait of the woman.
With that in mind, Leon should sit on the left chair next to the table closest to the portraits, and Ashley should sit at the other dining table in the right chair closest to the center of the room. So long as Leon and Ashley are sitting in the correct seats, ringing the dinner bell will cause the cage to open, allowing Leon to acquire the snake head inside.
Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
