Resident Evil 4 remake follows Agent Leon S. Kennedy on his mission to find and rescue Ashley Graham, the president's daughter, from a murderous cult. Upon reaching a small village, he learns that a parasite has warped the minds of all the townsfolk, making them violent. Though he may not want to, the only way to find Ashley is for him to fight them.

Leon will likely receive a great deal of damage during his search for Ashley. Thankfully, RE4 remake allows its players to heal Leon in a variety of different ways. That said, not all healing methods are as obvious as others.

Healing With Green Herbs in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Mixed Herb in Resident Evil 4 remake

While playing through Resident Evil 4 remake, players will stumble upon a variety of unique collectibles. Some, when found, can be sold to the Merchant, while others can be transformed into something else via the Crafting menu. Green Herbs can be found quite frequently by exploring new areas, which is good considering how valuable their healing properties can be.

Upon finding a Green Herb in Resident Evil 4 remake, Leon can consume it to restore some of his health by selecting it in his inventory and choosing the 'Use' option. The Crafting menu can also be used to combine Green Herbs to form Mixed Herbs. The more Green Herbs used to create a Mixed Herb, the more health the mixture will restore.

Combining a Red Herb with a Green Herb will increase the overall health the mixture can restore, and combining a Green Herb with a Yellow Herb will partially heal Leon while also permanently increasing his maximum health.

Healing With First Aid Spray in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Another great way to restore health in Resident Evil 4 remake is to acquire and use a First Aid Spray. Unlike herbs, finding First Aid Sprays while exploring the world isn't overly reliable, as they are much rarer. The best way to acquire one is to visit the Merchant and buy one from him for 5,000 Pesetas. Players who are short on Pesetas should check Leon's inventory to see if he has any treasures to sell.

Using the First Aid Spray will completely restore all of Leon's lost health, so players should ensure to only ever make use of this healing method when Leon's health meter is nearly empty; otherwise, they should prioritize using items that heal smaller amounts. To administer the First Aid Spray, the player must find it in Leon's inventory, select it, and then choose the 'Use' option.

Other Ways to Heal in Resident Evil 4 Remake

A Brown Chicken Egg in Resident Evil 4 remake

While Mixed Herbs and First Aid Sprays are great healing methods, Leon won't always have access to them. If players are struggling to locate the ingredients required to make Mixed Herbs, or simply can't afford to purchase any First Aid Sprays from the Merchant, they should keep an eye out while progressing through each chapter, as there are other restorative items available.

Though these items might not restore as much health as a Mixed Herb or a First Aid Spray, they can come in handy if the player is struggling to survive certain encounters. The Black Bass, found in shallow waters; the Chicken Egg and Brown Chicken Egg, found on the ground next to chickens; and the Viper, found slithering around different locations and by destroying crates, once collected, can all be used to replenish a portion of Leon's health.

Like with Mixed Herbs and First Aid Sprays, these other healing items can be consumed by selecting them in Leon's inventory and choosing the 'Use' option.

Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
